Fairykind are mortals who are infused by the magic of the Fairy Queen and her subjects. Being fairykind is rarer than being fairystruck, who are much more weaker in comparison. It could be assumed that the Fairy Queen makes anyone fairykind her handmaiden, though the role could possibly be exclusive to Kendra.
Fairykind individuals seem to attract attention, and sometimes envy, from fairies. Other magical creatures act reverently towards fairykind as well. Fairykind have a duty to be kind and to spread goodness in the world while protecting the kingdom of Light. This is why this blessing is only given to those pure of heart.
Abilities[]
- Resistance to Mind Control: Fairykind are able to resist most forms of mind control, some of them being distracter spells or the aura of dragons. This ability allows them to see disguised objects or places, such as gates and fences enchanted to protect magical preserves.
- Night Vision: Due to their aura of light, they can see in complete darkness. Kendra remarks while she could still see shade, it is always dim rather than dark.
- Innate Understanding of Fairy Languages: Fairykind are able to decipher languages such as Silvian and other tongues similar to it. They mainly could speak to light creatures such as the brownies or the merfolk.
- Mystical Sight: Kendra and other fairykind do not require substances like milk or butter to see magical creatures.
- Authority Over Fairies: Fairykind could command fairies in the name of the Fairy Queen.
- Reservoir of Magic Energy: Even though they can't see it themselves, fairykind individuals brim with magical energy. Through touch they can recharge drained artifacts, energize magical creatures, and empowering other mortals as well. (Seeing as Kendra can help Seth resist the magical fear of a dragon.) They could transmit this power through kissing.
- Light Projection: Fairykind could project light and surround themselves with a bright glow to blind others.
- Granting Power of Speech: Fairykind are able to grant dumb animals the power of speech.
- Transforming Nature into Weapons: As suggested by Lizelle, Kendra is capable of transforming natural things such as blades of grass into weapons.
- Golem Animation: Though the practice of animating golems are lost, it was said that fairykind are able to animate them.
- Bestowal of Wings: Like Risenmay, fairykind could supposedly grant others wings to fly.
- Creation of Pocket Dimensions: It was said that fairykind could create new pocket dimensions, which remains as a lost art.
Known Fairykind[]
- Kendra Sorenson: Kendra is currently the only person who is fairykind. She obtained this ability after the fight of Bahumat. The fairies chose to save her from the fatal potion she had ingested by giving her this power. This role was given to Kendra because her intentions were pure, and because she was devoted to her loved ones. She was first presumed to be fairystruck, but the Sphinx diagnosed her as fairykind a short while later.
